Sound of the

Poison the Well interview with Guitar player Ryan Primack by: Benji
Womack
Benji: How did Poison the Well end up on Sounds of the Underground Tour?
Ryan: We call it So-Too. Sort of like heavy metal tofu. A couple of our
friends, Paul Conroy and Carl Ferret, were
putting this together late last year. We confirmed in Oct. or Sept. one
of the first bands in. We're really glad we did it.
Benji: Tell me the highlights for you guys on this tour.
Ryan: Just hanging out with friends and making new friends. Like that
band A Life Once Lost, we used to play shows with them at this church in
PA in 99’ and the year 2000. To see them how they are now, so good,
such a good band.
Benji: Tell me about the feeling you get deep down in your soul when
you’re playing on stage in front of your fans.
Ryan: Seriously, I black out when we start playing; I have no clue
what’s going on, at all. Like (when) some people do heroin, I know
it’s cliché to say, but some people do that. That’s spooky.
Benji: What bands have you had a chance to hang with?
Ryan: Every band, except DevilDriver. I want to kick it with them but I
don’t think they want to kick it with us; I’m kind of bummed out.
Benji: What are your plans after SOTU Tour?
Ryan: We’re going back to record some more for our next record; we
have about half of it done. We took a break to tour in the middle,
though it would be cool to come back and change the way we do
everything. What if this was the worst idea ever and everything we wrote
after the tour was crap? That would be a bummer.
Benji: Cool, thanks for your time
Ryan: Right on! Short and sweet, I like it like that. I think it’s
really rad that you guys do a fanzine-style zine. It reminds me of all
the old punk rock fanzines I used to get when I was a kid. It has a lot
of stuff about your local scenes and unsigned bands, it’s pretty
awesome.
